Dear everyone in KamiHayakawa! The summer heat is still around but the autumn breeze is coming soon. I hope that everyone is doing fine! During September, I will host a guest from Switzerland who is working at a famous and very old Swiss company in Zurich as a cartographer, making high quality tourist maps for Switzerland and others countries. His name is Markus and he is going to stay at my Kominka in Tsuchikura. Markus will travel around the Hayakawa valley, on foot and by bicycle, from the ocean to the mountain top in order to explore the potential for sustainable tourism in Itoigawa with a focus on the Hayakawa valley. I am sure that you will meet him here and there as he is a rather tall guy. He has some very basic knowledge of the Japanese language, hence, please take the opportunity to communicate with him. Your inputs will help him to better understand the potential of our beautiful valley! I will sometimes be with him and I look forward to meeting you on our way in the Hayakawa valley.
Dear All, My name is Markus Hauser. I am 49 years old and I live in Winterthur, the 6th largest city of Switzerland just north of Zurich. Since my childhood I am in love with maps and so I became a professional Cartographer at Orell F?ssli in Zurich over 30 years ago. My company has a very old background, as the mother company was founded in 1519. We are celebrating this year our 500 years anniversary! I would like to use my knowledge and love for Japan to do a research in the Hayakawa valley. I am coming to your lovely valley in the coming September for 3 weeks and looking forward to meet you and discuss with you the potential for sustainable tourism.
